Frequent racer in Formula 3, who also won his home Formula 3 title in 1973, having finished as runner-up the previous season. A cheerful fellow, Hakan also raced in European Formula Ford and came second in the series in 1971. Dahlqvist was often seen in a Merlyn car, more often than not, in a Mk22. Ran a painting contracting business for some years. Barring a brief sportscar foray in 1974, his Formula 2 effort and winning his national title marked the peak and the end of his racing career.
