Continued to race in touring cars until the late 1990's, mainly in Italy, although he did also race in Spain and in the DTM. Now works a racing driver instructor, and for many years he did this role for Alfa Romeo, for whom he raced for a number of years. Giorgio won the 1974 Polifac Formel 3 Trophy in Germany but enjoyed more success in sportscars, with 4 wins in the World Sportscar Championship between 1979 and 1982. He also won the Italian Prototype Championship in 1991 and finished as runner-up three times in the Italian Touring Car Championship.
