From 1982 to 1998, he worked as a racing school instructor for the CSAI and latterly included disabled drivers in this setup, specifically concentrating on them, despite, near the end, being over 70 years of age at the time. This earnt him a wonderful legacy and much respect, which made up for his rather disappointing single-seater career. That said, sportscars were more his speciality, despite winning the Italian FJ title in 1958. Retired in 1963 to become a test driver for road and sportscars production development. Before the CSAI role, he was also a technical director. Still followed the sport, up to his death, after suffering with illness for some time.
