Went into Italian and Spanish touring cars initially, but then went into sportscars and GT's, winning the Italian GT2 title in 2006. He was also the Grand Prix Masters' safety car and series test driver and in 2011, also moved into rallying. In 2018, he appeared in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, competing with his own team. After appearing in a number of events, he now only drives in historic events and runs his team in not only NASCAR Whelen (now as Academy Motorsport) but in rallying, including at the annual Dakar event. He also is involved, as an advisor and owner, along with ex-Formula 2 racer Duilio Truffo, in Formula Guida - this is a racing school for single-seaters and sports prototypes, as well as being a safe driving and performance school for road cars, based at the Autodromo di Franciacorta near Rovato, Italy.
