Worked as a Renault exporter/importer and this led him to racing opportunities. He drove in sportscars, touring cars and hillclimbs, as well as single-seaters. His career in the latter was badly derailed by a crash at Avus in 1971, where he suffered a broken leg and fractured skull. After racing, he continued as an importer and still followed the sport. He married Suzy Raganelli, who like Giancarlo, also raced in karts. However, Giancarlo was a dual sportsman. He played for Lazio's youth team and then their B team, but never broke through to their first team. He was transferred to AC Cral Genio Militare di Roma in 1958, but ended his career a few years later to start his importing business. Sadly died in December 2021. He was the 1971 Italian Formula 3 champion.
