Racing driver through much of the 1910's, he later became a businessman and manager in the ice industry. Later became a refrigeration engineer. A long-time resident of Arizona, he died of a heart-attack after years suffering with heart disease. Delno had great success at an event in Spokane, Washington, in 1917, when he won four of the five events there in his own prepared Stutz; he won the Mile against Time speed trial, the 10 mile Small Car Race, the 10 Mile Heavy Car Race and the 50 Mile Thaddeus S. Lane Trophy. All of these events were on dirt tracks, which were far and away, Delno's most successful type of racing.
