After being involved in the Life Formula 1 farce, as the test driver, Franco later went to the United States. Franco raced once in CART and competed in Grand Am and the Spanish GT championship. Now works as a racing instructor and also flies small commercial planes. The Life test driver role was enough to scupper any progress in Formula 1, although in truth, Franco struggled for a proper budget to go racing and may not have progressed further anyway. Franco also works as a coach and consultant to a kart team and as a race engineer and likes skiing. He now lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Scapini also raced powerboats and won eight times in the sport.
