After being involved in the Life Formula 1 farce, as the test driver, Franco later went to the United States. Franco raced once in CART and competed in Grand Am and the Spanish GT championship. Franco's current work is in aviation with his own executive flight company and as a plane's pilot, He is also involved in restoring classic car and he also collaborates with Sky Sport HD in Italy, providing technical commentary for IndyCar races. The Life test driver role was enough to scupper any progress in Formula 1, although in truth, Franco struggled for a proper budget to go racing and may not have progressed further anyway. He now lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Scapini also raced powerboats and won eight times in the sport.
