Had more success in Formula 3, with two wins in the Italian series in 1987, as his career pretty much stalled after quitting before the end of the 1988 season to get married, never quite gaining the same momentum since. Massimo raced until relatively recently, in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia or similar series, but hasn't raced very much since 2015. Also has a keen interest in motorbikes. Massimo has also raced extensively in sportscars, was a race winner in British Formula 2 and has also raced extensively in Spanish sportscar series.
