Raced in the Renault Clio Eurocup, winning the championship in 2000 and 2001. Now works for the CIGS as an instructor, and runs a couple of teams now. Luca himself raced in a variety of events, including the Italian Touring Car Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup and, in 2014, with his team, in the Ginetta G50 Cup. He still runs a team and is driver coach for the family run Rangoni Motorsport, but in 2017, he was also racing in the Italian GT series and in endurance events in his homeland. In 2018, he was in the Italian Mini Challenge; in 2019 and 2020, TCR Italy. In 2021, he was in the BMW M2 CS Cup. After performing extensive testing work for Fiat, he was back in TCR Italy in 2022 and in TCR European Endurance in 2025.
