Until recently, Michel ran a car dealership, after starting as a garage mechanic. Raced for nearly thirty years in the sport, starting in motorcycles, and including touring cars, Formula 2, rallies and hillclimbs, with decent results, especially in rallies. His dad was a mechanic and racer, and Michel learnt from him. Now mainly retired but is still a DVD distributor and still flies planes. His first four wheel attempt was in rallying in 1969 and he finished in 1995. He won the French Hillclimb Championship in 1976 and took over 20 wins in the European Rally Championship.
