Notes on the cars:

  1. March 713S [1] (James Hunt): New for James Hunt to race in F3 in 1971 as part of the Rose Bearings-sponsored March Racing team. Won its first two races but then crashed by Hunt at Silverstone on 8 May, when the car went airborn and hit the sleepers. The March was rebuilt at the factory and raced by Hunt at Zandvoort a week later, only for Hunt to crash again, the car this time overturning and ripping off the rollhoop. Rebuilt as any effectively new car for Dave Morgan, initially appearing as a Formula Atlantic car at Snetterton in late June, and then as F3 car for the GP meeting in July. Raced by Morgan and by Reg James in F/Atlantic later in 1971. Sold in May 1972 to Jack Cavill (Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire), the owner of Mike Wilds' car, and converted back to F3 spec for Wilds until his new Ensign was ready. Retained by Wilds in 1973. Likely to be the "ex-Hunt" car raced by Chris Pilborough in Formula 4 in 1974, and then the "ex-Hunt/Morgan" F4 car of Mark Pritchard in 1976. Maybe Richard Penny's F4 car in 1977. Subsequent history unknown.
  2. Lotus 69 [71/69-4.F3] (Manfred Mohr): New to Manfred Mohr and raced extensively in European F3 in 1971, using Novamotor engines. Sold to Fabrizio Noè for 1972. Noè had raced a 1971 Lotus 69 in F3 in 1971 but in early 1972 was reported to have sold his car to Fiorenzo Togna and bought Mohr's "monocoque" car to replace it. This suggests Mohr's car had acquired a F2 chassis at some point during 1971. Raced by Noè in Italian F3 in 1972. Subsequent history unknown.
  3. March 703 (Dieter Kern): Dieter Kern (Ransbach-Baumbach, Rhineland-Palatinate, West Germany) ran a March 703 in the 1-litre class of German Formula 3 in 1971.
  4. March 713S [6] (Wolfgang Bülow): New to Eifelland for Formula 3 and delivered in March 1971. Identified by Autosport as the car raced extensively through 1971 by Wolfgang Bülow (Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, West Germany). To Utz Schad (Oberafferbach, Johannesberg, Bavaria) for 1972. Subsequent history unknown.
  5. Lotus 69 [71/69-9.F3] (Freddy Kottulinsky): New to Freddy Kottulinsky and raced extensively in European F3 in 1971, using Schnitzer BMW engines and entered by Haj-Haj Racing Team. Raced by Günter Kölmel (Achern-Ohnsbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) in European F3 in 1972 and 1973, again with BMW engines and entered by Haj-Haj Racing Team. Kölmel raced the car again in F3 in 1974, now using 2-litre BMW engines. Subsequent history unknown.
  6. March 703 [5] (Rüdi Gygax): New to Rudolphe 'Rüdi' Gygax (Wabern, Canton of Bern, Switzerland) for F3 in 1970, and delivered in April 1970 with a Novamotor installation and blue bodywork. Raced by Gygax across Europe during 1970. Retained for 1971 and raced in the 1000cc class of Swiss national events. Subsequent history unknown.
  7. March 713S (Franz Pesch): Franz Pesch (Köln/Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) raced a March 713S at a few races at the start of the 1971 season as part of the Eifelland Wohnwagenbau team. He then joined George Loos' Gelo Racing Team for the Le Mans 24 Hour race, and continued in sports car racing with Gelo Racing in 1971 and 1972. The fate of his March 713S is not known, but it is likely it was taken over by one of the Eifelland team's other drivers, probably Klaus Enders.
  8. March 703 [4] (Roger Hurst): New to Ed Reeves for F3 in 1970, and delivered in March 1970 with a Holbay engine and blue bodywork. Raced extensively by Reeves in British F3, and also appeared in some European races. To Roger Hurst (Folkestone, Kent) of Lenham Hurst Racing Organisation for 1971, and fitted with a Rowland twin cam for the new 1600cc F3. Sold to 19-year-old Formula Ford driver Richard Croucher (Kent) in October 1971, and intended to be used in F3 with a Piper engine in 1972. Only entered at a few races in 1972 for Croucher as the Lenham LM1. Converted to Formula Ford 2000 specification by Hurst in 1974 or 1975, and presumably the car entered by Brian Davis in 1975. Later to Tim Campbell 1977/78 but unraced by him. Subsequent history unknown.
  9. March 713S (Hermann Unold): Hermann Unold (Ludwigshafen, Rhineland-Palatinate, West Germany) raced a March 713S through the 1971 season as part of the Eifelland Wohnwagenbau team, using a Schntizer BMW engine for at least part of the season. Unold did not continue with Eifelland after 1971, and the fate of his March 713S is not known.
  10. March 703 (Josef Kremer): Josef Kremer (Köln/Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) ran a March 703 in the 1-litre class of German Formula 3 in 1971.
  11. March 713S (Wilhelm "Willi" Deutsch): Wilhelm "Willi" Deutsch raced a March 713S right through the 1971 season as part of the Eifelland Wohnwagenbau team. Deutsch stayed with Eifelland for 1972. The fate of his March 713S is not known.
  12. March 713M [1] (Hannelore Werner): New to Eifelland Wohnwagenbau for Hannelore Werner to race in German and European F3 in 1971. To Heinz Lange (Neuburgweiler, Baden-Württemberg) at the end of the season, and used in the Italian F3 series where Lange hired a Brabham BT35 from Scuderia Italia and the 713M was raced by Piergiovanni Tenani, Clois Avigni and "Shangri-Là" (Romano Martini). It may have been raced once by Livio Franzoso in 1973, but apparently retained by Lange that year. Sold to Werner Fischer (Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg) for 1974, then to Biagio Brandi (Bad Homburg, Hesse) in 1978, and then to Marcel Biehl (Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia), who posted pictures of the unrestored car on Facebook in November 2013. Immaculately restored and raced by Biehl in 2015. Sold to former owner Werner Fischer in 2016, and raced by him in the German HRA series in 2017 and 2018.
  13. March 703 (Heinz-Jürgen Rüller): Heinz-Jürgen Rüller (Drensteinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) ran a March 703 in the 1-litre class of German Formula 3 in 1971.
  14. March 713S [8] (Willi Sommer): New to Eifelland for Formula 3 and delivered in March 1971. Although there is no contemporary identification of this car's first driver, it was identified by Bonhams in a sale in Germany in August 2003 as Willi Sommer's car, commenting that the car had its original ONS-Wagenpass issued in 1971. Sommer raced a March 713S through the 1971 season as part of the Eifelland Wohnwagenbau team. According to Chris Townsend, it then went to Hans Deffland (Munich, Bavaria) for 1972, entered by Formel Team München. After the 1972 season, Deffland exchanged it for the crashed Porsche 910 of Walter Proebst (Adlkofen, Landshut, Bavaria), and Proebst raced the car in German hillclimbs, initially in the F3 class and later in F2. Bonhams did not account for its history after 1971 until it was restored "1996-99 by Auer of Dortmund".
