Retired to run his largely unsuccessful Formula 1 team. Wilson now suffers from Parkinson's Disease, so he has scaled a number of projects back and has been in varying health. He was involved in race instructing and TV work and visited historics. He still has - in his name anyway - a Mercedes dealership and a huge yacht dealership, where he designed the yachts as well as selling them, but his day-to-day involvement in both of these has also been scaled down. However, recently, he teamed up with his old friend Richard Divila to develop a new Formula Vee series in their homeland but Divila's death and Fittipaldi's health ended that. Although Wilson's career was overshadowed by his brother - and arguably his son as well - he was a race winner at both Formula 3 and Formula 2 level. Fittipaldi also raced for some years in saloon cars at the beginning of his career.
