Now lives in Alaska, where he is a glacier pilot, mainly for mountain expeditions in the area. He very much enjoys his very different way of life from racing. Olson was extremely successful in IMSA, taking four wins in the series in a purple patch between 1985 and 1986. Drake had raced in sportscars for some years previously as well as appearing in Champ Cars, although arguably it came slightly too early in his career. Olson ran a farm in his hometown during all this time and it was where he retired to in 1989 before his move further north.
