Mike currently runs an endurance team in the US Sportscar Series, after a spell as a team boss in Toyota Atlantic. Indycar team ownership remains, as it has done for some time, an option as well and in 2024, will continue to do a full Indycar season after a successful initial 2020 attempt. Sensationally won the Indy 500 that year with veteran Helio Castroneves driving the car. Lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Shank started racing relatively late, aged 22, but moved swiftly up the ranks to make up for lost time. In 1999, whilst still racing in sportscars, Shank formed his team and retired shortly afterwards as a driver to focus on running his team.
