Alex moved into endurance - Grand Am and the American Le Mans Series included - after his IRL spell, and then most recently was in the Pirelli World Challenge GT series. In 2015, however, he went into truck racing, racing in the Baja 1000, Baja 500 and the Trophy Truck Racing series - all three being off-road endurance truck events. In 2016, Alex continued in this vein, but then added more desert-based endurance classics in his itinerary. Alex still competes in desert, dirt and off-road based events in 2019. Although born in Iowa, Figge has been long based in Colorado.
