3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985
These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

Two entries arrived as usual from each of McLaren, Tyrrell, Lotus, Brabham, March, Ferrari, Shadow and Williams. Hill and Surtees had second entries but neither of the French No 2 drivers took part. There were three Hesketh entries as his Lordship was entering a second car and Harry Stiller’s car was effectively the third. Single entries arrived as usual from BRM, Parnelli, Penske and Fittipaldi. The only non-FOCA team was Ensign, bringing the total to 26. Only 18 were allowed to start, leaving eight non-qualifiers.
Spare cars were almost as numerous as in Spain: a McLaren M23, Tyrrell 007, Lotus 72E, Brabham BT44B, Ferrari 312T, BRM P201, Shadow DN5, Surtees TS16, the Hill team’s old Lola T370, Parnelli VPJ4 and Penske PC1. The Tyrrell was identified as 007/6 by Autosport and as 007/5 by Motor Sport. What had been the spare Hesketh was now the team’s second entry.
