3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985
These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.
Individual sources for this event
Autosport 26 Jun 1975 pp10-21 (by Pete Lyons). Motor Sport August 1975 p866-868 (by 'DSJ' Denis Jenkinson).
Two entries arrived from McLaren, Tyrrell, Lotus, Brabham, March, Ferrari, Shadow, Williams and Hill. Single entries arrived from BRM, Surtees, Hesketh, Penske, Fittipaldi, Ensign and Maki, the latter making their first appearance of the season. As Harry Stiller had dropped out, the Hesketh hire car had reverted to being Hunt’s spare, and the Parnelli was absent, there were 25 entries.
The spare cars present were a McLaren M23, Tyrrell 007, Lotus 72E, Brabham BT44B, Ferrari 312T, BRM P201, Shadow DN5, Surtees TS16, the Hill team’s Lola T370, Hesketh 308, Penske PC1 and, for the first time, a spare Fittipaldi. The spare Tyrrell was identified as 007/5 by Autosport but was not mentioned by Motor Sport.
