3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.

All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

Individual sources for this event

Autosport 1 May 1975 pp10-19 (by Pete Lyons). Motor Sport June 1975 pp598-601 (by 'DSJ' Denis Jenkinson).

F1 was now at full strength and had two entries from each of McLaren, Tyrrell, Lotus, Brabham, March, Ferrari, Shadow, Williams and Hill. Hesketh had adopted Harry Stiller’s car so also presented as a two-car team. Single entries arrived from BRM, Surtees, Parnelli, Penske and Fittipaldi. Of the lesser teams and privateers that had been present at the non-championship races, only Ensign arrived at this race, bringing the total to 26 entries, just the right size for the Montjuich grid.

The spare cars present were a McLaren M23, Tyrrell 007, Lotus 72E, Brabham BT44B, Ferrari 312T, BRM P201, Shadow DN5, Surtees TS16, the Hill team’s old Lola T370, Hesketh, Parnelli VPJ4 and Penske PC1. The Tyrrell was identified as 007/5 by both Autosport and Motor Sport.
