Notes on the cars:

  1. Cooper T66 [F1-5-63] (André Wicky): New for Cooper F1 No 2 driver Tony Maggs to drive in 1963, starting at the International Trophy at Silverstone in May. Maggs finished second in the French GP. For 1964, the Cooper was sold to hillclimb specialist Harry Zweifel (Glarus, Switzerland) and fitted with a 2-litre Maserati for Swiss national events and French hillclimbs. The car was wrecked at Mont Ventoux in June and replaced with another rolling chassis ordered from Cooper, apparently delivered with the same number. The origins of the replacement chassis are unknown. Zweifel continued to race the rebuilt car but its history after Zweifel is currently unclear. At some point in the 1970s, an English collector bought a car in Switzerland that had been fitted with an entirely non-original leaf-spring rear end and a Ferrari 4-cylinder 625-type engine. The collector wanted it for the engine and did not really want the chassis but put a FPF Climax in it and loaned it to the Lakeside Motor Museum at Holker Hall near Grange over Sands in Cumbria. Some time around 1981, this car was bought by an English restorer and engine specialist who realised it was a V8 car. A full restoration of the car started in 1999.
