3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985
These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

Philip Turner was back in charge of Motor's report, so no chassis numbers were mentioned, and Edward Eves did the report for Autocar, mentioning chassis numbers but omitting them from the grid listing.
The entry list comprised two-car teams from Tyrrell-March, March Engineering, Brabham, and Matra; three cars teams from Lotus, with Fittipaldi again in a Lotus 49C, BRM, McLaren, with Hulme and Gethin in the M14As and De Adamich in the M14D, and Ferrari, who entered all three drivers for the first time; and one-car operations from John Surtees, Silvio Moser, and Frank Williams. With Rob Walker absent because his Lotus 72 was not yet ready and Colin Crabbe unable to attend as his sole engine could not be prepared in time, the only privateer present was the STP March 701 for Andretti. Tyrrell's new car was almost ready, but the team only had their March 701s present at this race. Rodriguez had a spare BRM P153, but that was needed for George Eaton to race after he crashed his usual car in practice. Stewart's spare March 701 was not used all weekend, and the Ferrari team had the three drivers in and out of four Ferraris. Denis Jenkinson sensed a "feeling in the air" that something was changing in F1, with the 12-cylinder engines of Ferrari and BRM finally coming to terms with the Cosworth DFV. He would be proved right, as Ferrari finished 1-2 and 12-cylinder engines filled six of the top seven places.
