3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985
These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen at allen@oldracingcars.com if you can help with our research.

Membership of the Formula One Association became more important than any distinction regarding privateers in 1972. According to Denis Jenkinson, the association had representatives from Brabham, BRM, Ferrari, Honda, Lotus, March, Matra, McLaren, STP, Surtees, Tyrrell, Walker and Williams. Note that Frank Williams was included despite using customer cars. The FOA entries in Argentina were two each from Brabham, Lotus, March, McLaren, Surtees and Tyrrell, five from BRM, three from Ferrari, and single car from Matra and Frank Williams with his new March 721, bringing the total to 22. Lotus was now called "John Player Special" according to team manager Peter Warr, but OldRacingCars.com policy is to ignore a sponsor's "naming rights". McLaren had nicked the Yardley sponsorship from BRM, but Louis Stanley had trumped that with sponsorship from Marlboro. Surtees continued with title sponsors Brooke Bond Oxo/Rob Walker on the No 1 car and now had Ceramica Pagnossin on the No 2 car for De Adamich, Tyrrell still had Elf, and March still had STP. No T cars were present. When did that last happen?
