NOTE: Engine and car type designations were not used in period, only generic terms such as “122-cubic-inch Miller” or “Miller straight 8’; they are used here purely to facilitate discussion. Also, many of the cars ran under an assortment of different names but “Miller”, inducing the period bon mot “A Miller by any other name would run as sweet…” So, along with Miss Capulet, we won’t dwell unduly on that matter!
