Notes on the cars:

  1. Ralt RT4/81 [262] (Peter Haskett): Ralt sales record says sold to Graham Watson/Bob Jane, without delivery date. [Tub no: 81/118; Gearbox FT1356; Fuel cell: JM36679 5/81] Chassis number noted in NZMA report as on the car of Geoff Brabham at the AGP 1981, [NZMA 23 Nov 81 p4]. Chassis number given for Jacques Laffite's car at 1982 AGP. Chassis number given NZMN 21 Jan 83 p16 for the car of Ken Smith at Bay Park, 2 Jan 83. A separate note by Dave McKinney says that this was the car used by Brabham 1981 AGP and Jacques Laffite 1982 AGP. [CT]
  2. Ralt RT4/82 [81-275] (Craig Coleman): New to Ray Mallock (Roade, Northamptonshire), prepared by Cliff Smith Racing and with sponsorship from Chamtex. First raced in a SUNBAC Formule Libre race at Silverstone on 10 October 1981, then shipped to Australia for the Australian Grand Prix four weeks later. The car was then sold to Russell Norden and raced by him in the Australian National F1 Championship race at Oran Park in April 1982, but he did not appear again. He advertised the car in October 1982 noting that it was "only three meetings old" and would available for lease at the 1982 Australian GP if is was not sold. Driven by Garry Rogers at Sandown Park in September, then by Hubert Phipps in the FIA "World Cup Series" race at Calder in April 1983. Chris Townsend advises that it was sold to Eric Morgan later in 1983, and raced by him at Baypark Raceway in January 1984. It finally got a sustained run of races when Brett Riley raced it for Morgan in the 1985 and 1986 New Zealand Internationals. Then to Craig Coleman for the 1986/87 New Zealand season.
