Notes on the cars:
- Lola T192 [HU19] (Mark Donohue): New to Roger Penske for Mark Donohue to drive in the 1970 US series, starting at Mosport 13 Sep 1970. To Competition Research & Development (Pomona, CA) for Brett Lunger US 1971, then to Larry McNeil US 1972, US 1973 and then in SCCA Nationals from 1974 to 1978. Via Alan Marvin to Gordon Close (Hinsdale, IL) 1979, and used it for 1979 SCCA drivers school and Regionals. To former racer Don O'Sullivan (Perth, Western Australia) in 1983 but not run by him and sold to Bob Harborow (Camberwell, Victoria, Australia) in 1989. Restored and used in historic racing in Australia, including VHRR Historic Sandown and Phillip Island Classic 1999-2013, and the Australian GP support races in 2009 and 2010. Reappeared in October 2015, when run by Kieran Patel (Victoria, Australia) at the Baskerville Historics. More information about Lola T192 HU19
- Lola T190/T192 [190/F1/1] (Bobby Unser): New to Jerry Hansen and raced at Sebring in December 1969. Also driven by Chuck Parsons (his #44 Aqua Velva T190 at US R1 1970), then by Hansen at the Laguna Seca Pro race on 14 June 1970. Advertised 25 Jul 1970. Apparantly sold to Rich Galloway and raced in the US series, starting from R9 Brainerd 16 Aug 1970. Probably the car used by Galloway Tasman 1971 (crashed by Bobby Brown in practice for R1 but rebuilt for Brown in remaining New Zealand races and then for Galloway in Australia; then crashed at last race. To Charlie Hayes and raced by Bobby Unser at the Questor GP 1971; presumably then the car advertised by Hayes in August 1971. Advertised "Bobby Unser's Questor GP T-190-92" from Los Altos, CA (in the San Francisco Bay Area) April 1972 which would appear to rule it out from being the either the Cal Rayburn or Dick Losk cars. Subsequent history unknown.
- Surtees TS8 [007] (Peter Revson): New for Peter Revson at the 1971 Questor GP then for Alan Roillinson in UK series. To Alan Brodie 1972 and raced by Brodie and by Steve Thompson. To Servis Appliances Racing Team 1973 and raced by Ray Allan early in the season. Then possibly the Robin Darlington car in Sep 1973 Reappeared with Colin Andrews (Banbury, Oxfordshire) 1974, then to Steve Cuff (Frome, Somerset) 1975 for hillclimbs. To Alan Richards (Cheltenham) and used in sprints and occasional hill climbs in 1976 and 1977. Used in sprints and occasional hill climbs by Bob Clapham in 1978 and 1979. Then unknown until sold by Brian Redman to Dave Swigler (Panama City, FL) in 1986. Dave believes Brian got it from Richard Attwood about two years earlier. Retained until Swigler sold his collection to Harin De Silva (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) in 2009. Restored by Virtuoso Performance and first raced at Laguna Seca in August 2011. Also raced in New Zealand in the 2011/12 Tasman Revival series and at the Phillip Island Classic in March 2013.
- Lotus 70B [01] (George Follmer): Intended for Bill Brack but his deal fell through. Run by Bruce Burness for George Follmer to drive in the Questor GP at Ontario in March 1971. To Pete Brock of BRE (El Segundo, CA) for John Morton in the 1972 US series, starting at R4 Road America in July. Very heavily damaged on the slowing down lap after finishing fourth at Road Atlanta when Morton hit a flooded area of track. Brock did not have the funds to repair the car and advertised its remains in 1974. Bought by Bob Dunlop to keep his Lotus 70 running. The rest of the car was stored by Dunlop and his partner Stephen Rich.
- Lola T190 [190/F1/6] (Dow "Jack" Byers II): Test car. Epstein-Cuthbert for Mike Hailwood UK R1 1970 but crashed Heat 1 and replaced by 190/F1/15 for next three races. Original car apparantly to Dow 'Jack' Byers II US 1970 (11 races) and presumably the car he raced at Questor 1971 ("T190/6"). Advertised by Jack Byers 12 Jun 1971. Subsequent history unknown. Note that two cars in the US may have carried this number, Byers' and Don Dierking's ex-Epstein car (see 190/15).

3-litre Formula 1 Non-championship events 1966-1983
These results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
All comments, clarifications, corrections and additions are most welcome. Please email Allen (allen@oldracingcars.com) if you can help with our research.
Individual sources for this event
Autosport 1 Apr 1971 pp12-17 (by Pete Lyons). Motoring News 1 Apr 1971 pp12-13,22 (by 'ARM' Andrew Marriott). Motor Sport May 1971 pp454-455,473 (by 'ARM' Andrew Marriott). Autocourse 1971-72 pp134-135 summary only (by David Phipps). The Motor Racing Year No 3 (by Anthony Pritchard) pp124-129.
Pete Lyons in Autosport gave enough detail about the F1 cars for all to be identified except the Ferraris. The 16 shipped from the UK plus the STP March and Pete Lovely's Lotus brought the total to 18 F1 cars. Andrew Marriott in MN listed chassis numbers for all cars present, including the F5000 cars.
The Questor GP F5000 results are taken principally from Autosport's excellent race report (1 Apr 1971 pp12-17) with practice times from Motoring News. Motor Sport, Autocourse and Sport Auto were also consulted but added no extra detail.
