The W in Arrows, he later worked as a transmission expert for Benetton. Wass started his motorsport career at his local racing team, BRM, as an apprentice in the mid 1960's and stayed there until they hit trouble financially some 10 years on. After his spells at Shadow and Arrows, Wass also worked at Cosworth. Since his spell at Benetton (his second, he worked there for a while in the 1980's), Dave hasn't directly been involved in motorsport.
