Ferguson (1961)

Another man whose car work came first, being one of the more pivotal names in developing the four wheel drive. He was a director and chief engineer of Ferguson, who worked on the research and development of the four wheel drive system. Claude joined Aston Martin in 1927, before a brief spell away from them ended when he became chief draughtsman for them in 1949. He stayed with Ferguson until 1972, when he retired, although he remained a consultant with them until his death.Claude, who died of peritonitis, also worked for Morris Engines where he was a production drawing expert and also had a brief interlude at Vauxhall in the 1940's.
