Recruited by Williams in 2020 to become chief designer, he hae been in Formula 1 since 1997 with Arrows, Jaguar, Red Bull or Alpha Tauri. For some time he was a designer at Red Bull as well as working on their suspension team. His father was an aircraft engine draughtsman. He retired at the end of the 2025 season after a spell as engineering director for Williams.
